The Bureau of Meteorology issues 'Bush Fire Danger' ratings from November - April.

Harvest Ban

There are NO BANS in place.  For further information please contact Community Emergency Services Manager 0427 057 719 

Bush Fires Act 1954 - Unrestricted Burning Period

It is hereby notified that the Unrestricted Burning Period has commenced on 15th April 2012  to all areas of the Shire of York until midnight on the 14th October 2012.

To find out if a ban has been imposed you can check this website, call the Shire of Yorks Fire Weather Hotline 9641 2819 and listen to the recorded message, check out the FESA website or call the Community Emergency Sevices Manager on 0427 057 719.

Harvest and Movement Bans

During the summer months, Harvest and Movement Bans maybe imposed and it is your responsibility to find out if a Ban is in place. To find out up-to-date information on Fire and Harvest Bans, call the Harvest Ban Hotline (Fire Weather Hotline) on: 9641 2819 and a pre-recorded message will inform you.

You can also register for our free SMS Harvest Ban Notification Service.
Contact the Shire Rangers on 9641 2489 to register your prefered mobile number.

ABC Local Radio will also have three tune-in times for listeners to hear harvest bans at 10.05am, 12.35pm and 2.05pm on air.

Please Note: 
There is a Total Harvest Ban and Ban on Movement of Vehicles in Paddocks on
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day Every Year.

Reporting Hoon Behaviour

To enable community members to report dangerous, reckless or anti-social driving behaviour in Western Australia a link to the "About Reporting Hoon Behaviour' page on the WA Police website is now available.  The "About Reporting Hoon Behaviour" page contains a link to the Traffic Complaint Form used to record reported information.  The webpage also details what specific information is required to assist police to inquire into the complaint or establish a pattern of behaviour of an offendng driver and/or vehicle.
