Curtin University architecture students will individually present the first two months of investigation and preliminary designs for small-scale architectural and landsacape ‘works’ at the site of St Peter’s in Gilgering.
The objective of this speculative project is to examine how the understanding of a ‘place’ can be used to build deep site knowledge, directing thoughtful and appropriate intervention.
The project aims to unlock the latent potential of this site through the provision of new, sensitive, low-key public infrastructure.
Through this process we envisage new meaning and inventive uses being inscribed at Gilgering and establishing a broader connectivity to the surrounding region
and environment.
