MEDIA RELEASE

4 April 2017

Community feedback sought on Waste Management

The Shire of York is seeking community feedback regarding how to best meet community waste management needs into the future.

In February 2017 Council endorsed the Officers recommendation (in part) to seek community feedback regarding the supply of waste and recycling services in the Shire of York.

Proposals may include services in new areas or services such as; large skip bins in central locations, an increase in the provision of waste removal to reflect population growth and a review of verge side collections.

The Shire will also review the opening hours of the waste transfer station.

Information gained from community feedback will help form tender documentation and assist to direct Council’s strategic decision on our future waste and recycling services.

A link to the community survey can be found on the Shire website (www.york.wa.gov.au) or collected from the front counter of the Shire Office.

The survey opens 3 April and closes on 24 April 2017.
