Acts of kindness, changing someone's day.....

We have set up a Social Isolation Support Centre to provide assistance to members of the community facing challenges and increasing social isolation due to COVID-19.

The YORKIND initiative will provide assistance to members of the community facing challenges and increasing social isolation and support our community with a coordinated approach linking services to the community. Through the YORKIND Initiative, we can all look out for each other and show a little kindness and care.

Contact us Monday – Friday 9.30 – 4.30pm to find out how we can help change your day.

Can you help us?

We are looking for volunteers to help seniors and vulnerable people who are socially isolated.

We are all practising social distancing, and while we support this measure to minimise infections, we are concerned about the impact of social isolation and increased loneliness.

Whether it's helping someone with their grocery shopping, dog walking, a friendly phone check-in, or other errands - any little assistance you can offer will go a long way for someone in need.

Please fill out the appropriate short online form below to register as a volunteer or participant, and we will put you in direct contact with residents offering or requesting assistance.  If you don't want to fill out the form, you can call us on 9641 1301 or email: info@york.wa.gov.au

When volunteering your time, please remember that COVID-19 is contagious so please take every precaution to ensure you are spreading only kindness, avoid physical contact (1.5m distance) and wash your hands regularly.

This initiative has been organised in good faith and for the welfare of all participants, please ensure you undertake normal personal safety measures.

  • Complete the I can help online form to register as a volunteer.
  • Complete the I need help online form if you are in need of assistance during this crisis.

This initiative is driven by the Shire of York and the Social Isolation Support Centre is activated by the York Visitors Centre.
