Past Event

Note: This event is offered by the Greenhills Progress Association and promoted by the Shire of York.
Walk the Greenhills Heritage Trail and lunch at the historic Greenhills Inn.

There’s a lot more to the picturesque townsite of Greenhills than meets the eye – discover the newly established heritage walk trail which reveals the hidden past of this quiet rural community and afterwards relax with lunch and take sneak peeks around the beautifully restored Greenhills Inn.
Park outside the historic Greenhills Inn to take the leisurely stroll through the town site on the newly created Greenhills Heritage Trail which is accessible for all ages and discover the fascinating stories of local characters and places that formed Greenhills.
The current townsite sprang up around the new branch line of the railway in 1898 and there is plenty of evidence of the bustling era from years gone by. This is a great opportunity to explore not only the trail but the existing buildings of Greenhills, and enjoy the great country hospitality of the local pub for a meal.
Don’t forget only 3km away, on your journey home, the extension of the Greenhills Heritage trail centred on the charming wooden St Andrews Anglican Church and early settlers cemetery.
Greenhills Road is approximately 17km from York on the York-Quairading Rd. Park outside the historic Greenhills Inn to start the trail.
Greenhills Heritage Trail, Bakery and Hall entries are free but lunch is at own cost.
