APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE MANAGER INFRASTRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

The Shire of York is pleased to announce that Mr Darren Wallace has been appointed to the position of Executive Manager Infrastructure and Development Services for a period of 5 years.

He has had a long career since starting in local government in 1982 initially in the eastern states but moved to WA in 1997 when he was appointed Shire Engineer with the Shire of Coolgardie.

Darren joined the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder in 2004 as Manager Engineering Services, responsible for the development and monitoring of the majority of the engineering services budgets, allocation of capital expenditure, supervision of all technical and mechanical services staff and project management of major works and infrastructure projects. In 2016, his position was restructured to include Open Spaces, therefore also assuming responsibility for operation and management of sporting grounds, reserves, landscaped areas and asset management.

Darren has acted as Director Engineering Services in Kalgoorlie on numerous occasions including six months during 2016 while the substantive Director was acting as CEO. Since leaving the City of Kalgoorlie Boulder in 2017 Darren has been operating his own consultancy business.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Deakin University and an MBA (Tech) from Latrobe University and has undertaken numerous training courses relating to his work.

He will commence with the Shire of York on Monday 6 August 2018.
