Draft Strategic Community Plan for Public Consultation

Published on Friday, 1 May 2020 at 4:56:44 PM

Council is pleased to release its Draft Strategic Community Plan 2020-2030 for public consultation. The Strategic Community Plan sets the future goals and plans to enable the Council to lead the community into the next 10 years.

You can view the plan here.

Many members of the community contributed to the Imagine York 2030 consultation in February and we got clear advice from the community on its vision and priorities.

To ensure that we have heard accurately, we are calling on you to scrutinise the goals, objectives and strategies for change in this draft plan.

This is your opportunity to let us know if you think we have got it right or need to adjust.

While we are working on a 10-year plan, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has created an immediate priority.  Council has already resolved a 0% in the dollar rate increase and frozen fees & charges for the 2020/21 Budget period.

With this public consultation, we are requesting your ideas on how we could support and invest in our businesses’ and community’s immediate needs by creating stimulus through projects, events or community initiatives.  We need your assistance in identifying what those priorities are.

To summarise, we are asking for you to provide two views:

  • How could we immediately align funds and prioritise projects to support recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic in the 2020/21 Budget?
