Earlier this year, the Shire launched Experience York, a Social Media campaign using Facebook and Instagram platforms, to showcase the wide range of attractions York offers to visitors.
The objective is to increase awareness and attract tourists and visitors to York with a focus on highlighting York as more than a day trip location.

Businesses and individuals in York can help support the Experience York campaign by:
- Following Experience York Western Australia on Facebook
- Following Experience York WA on Instagram
- Sharing, liking and commenting on posts
- Using the hash tag #ExperienceYork when you share great images and info about the town
- Inviting your friends, contacts and followers to follow these pages
- Geo-tag your location to York, Western Australia to give us great coverage!
The Social Media Strategy has been designed to connect with a number of visitor demographics including families, tour groups, instagrammers, history buffs, adrenaline seekers, Sunday drivers and riders amongst others.
