Local Government Extraordinary Election Candidate Information Evening 5.30pm Monday 3 August 2020
An Extraordinary Election will be held on Friday 18 September 2020, with one position on the York Shire Council to be filled.
Nominations to run for Council are open from 5-12 August 2020.
The Shire of York is hosting an information session for anyone wanting to find out about becoming a Shire Councillor.
An Officer from the Western Australian Electoral Commission will be conducting a Candidate Information Session on Monday 3 August 2020 in the Lesser Hall, Town Hall York at 5.30pm.
The information session is designed to provide the necessary process arrangements for prospective candidates.
Attendance at the session is voluntary.
Advertisements calling for nominations will appear in local papers and the West Australian on Wednesday 29 July 2020.
I encourage anyone considering standing for the Extraordinary Election on 18 September 2020 to attend.
