SAVE MONEY AND SHOP SECONDHAND ON THIS YEAR’S GARAGE SALE TRAIL!

Published on Tuesday, 10 November 2020 at 11:17:23 AM

With the way the economy has been hit this year there is nothing better than scoring a bargain, especially as this Christmas season approaches. And score them you will at this year’s Garage Sale Trail on Saturday 21 & Sunday 22 November!

As Garage Sale Trail heads into its tenth year, the multi-award-winning national community and sustainability event is gearing up to be one of the best yet. With over 400,000 people expected to participate across 16,000 garage sales nationally.

Powered by over 115 councils Australia wide, including the Shire of York, Garage Sale Trail is dedicated to helping Australians on the road to economic recovery by encouraging them to save money through shopping and selling secondhand.

To make the deal even sweeter, 2020 marks the first time that Australians can participate in Garage Sale Trail online with many sellers opting to host their sales via Facebook Live or Instagram, meaning you can shop the Trail from the comfort of your home this year. This virtual garage sale option is aimed at both keeping people COVID safe and also assisting you in finding the most amazing pre-loved items possible – no matter your location.

For those that prefer to haggle face to face, there still will be physical sales to attend with COVID safety measures and guidelines in place. You can check out what sales are happening in your area, and nationally online, or register your own sale for free at garagesaletrail.com.au

“With thousands of garage sales happening all across the country there is sure to be some wonderful items available on this year’s Garage Sale Trail. From incredible jewellery, rare collectables and antiques, almost brand-new toys and games to one-off clothing pieces and highend accessories - Garage Sale Trail could be your one stop shop for all your Christmas gifts this year! And with the option to shop virtually you needn’t even leave the house if you don’t want to!” says co-founder Andrew Valder.

Aside from being a fantastic opportunity to stock the Christmas stockings with secondhand treasures, Garage Sale Trail also reduces a tonne of waste. It is predicted that over 2 million items are to be listed and diverted from landfill this year, making Garage Sale Trail a win for your wallet and for the planet too!

Shoppers can map out sales they’d like to visit physically or virtually by searching the map and creating a Trail at garagesaletrail.com.au
