Shire welcomes new Executive Manager Infrastructure and Development Services

The Shire has appointed Lindon Mellor to the position of Executive Manager Infrastructure & Development Services, to commence on Monday 10 July 2023.

Mr Mellor joins us from the Shire of Merredin, where he held the role as Executive Manager Engineering Services.  He comes with a range of experience within Local Government across roles at the Shire of East Pilbara and the City of Swan. He has overseen the successful delivery of several significant infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, sewerage, reuse water systems, remote reverse osmosis units, caravan parks, buildings, playgrounds, parks and ovals. He also has previous private sector experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.

At the recent Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia WA Excellence Awards held in March 2023, Lindon received the “Young Emerging Leader” award and has also received several other project related awards over his career.

CEO Chris Linnell says ‘I am very pleased to bring Lindon onboard. He has a broad skillset and will be a valuable member of the organisation and an asset to the York community’.

Mr Mellor will oversee the management of the Shire’s Infrastructure & Development Services in accordance with statutory requirements and Council policy. The Executive Manager Infrastructure and Development Services is one of two senior executive positions reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. A key focus of this position is project management of the local roads civil construction and maintenance program.
