Following the recent local government elections the Shire of York welcomed new Councillors-Elect at an official swearing-in ceremony at its Special Council Meeting on Tuesday 19 October 2021. There were three vacancies in this year’s election, with the results as follows:
Cr Kevin Trent
Cr Denis Warnick
Cr Peter Wright
Councillors Trent, Warnick and Wright made their Declarations of Office before local Justice of the Peace, and former Shire President, Mr Pat Hooper JP at the meeting.
We extend our thanks to ex-Cr Jane Ferro for her service to the community during her tenure on Council and wish her all the very best for the future.
In addition, the meeting called for the election of the Shire President and Deputy Shire President for the ensuing two years, with the results being declared as:
Cr Denese Smythe – Shire President
Cr Denis Warnick – Deputy Shire President
