Outstanding Rates and Charges

Rates and charges are the responsibility of the current registered owner of a property. If you are unable to pay your rates and charges by one of the two options provided on your notice, you can make an application to enter an agreement to make alternative payments.

If you are having difficulties paying your rates and charges or are experiencing financial hardship, please contact the Shire of York Rates Officer on 9641 0507 or send an email to records@york.wa.gov.au to discuss your options.

As of 1 July 2023, overdue accounts will be charged interest at a rate of 7% per annum, calculated daily.

Where no payment or alternative arrangement has been made, in accordance with the Shire of York Revenue Collection Policy F1.1, legal action to recover outstanding rates and charges may be taken. Costs associated with legal action are recoverable from the ratepayer and will be added to the account.
