COMMUNITY FEEDBACK ON AVON RIVER FRONT CONCEPT

In July 2016, Council resolved to establish an Avon Park Working Group and invited community members to assist in preparation of a draft concept plan for the staged re-development of Avon Pioneer Park.

Proposed improvements include an upgraded toilet block, coin operated electric barbeques, drink fountains, increased seating and shelters, fitness equipment and a skate park. Also proposed is the relocation of the RV parking area closer to the ‘Carriage Diner’ and making Lowe Street a one-way entry.

The plan is now ready for broader community input and feedback sought by the Working Group throughout the month of May.

Community feedback will be considered by the Working Group and the concept amended prior to being reviewed by Council. Once the final concept has been confirmed a series of funding applications will be submitted to support the proposals. The survey opens 1 May and closes at 4.30pm 31 May 2017.
