SHIRE OF YORK MEDIA RELEASE

SEEKING PUBLIC COMMENT - STRATEGIC COMMUNITY PLAN & CORPORATE BUSINESS PLAN

At the Ordinary Council Meeting held 18 December 2017, Council reviewed its Strategic Community Plan & Corporate Business Plan.

All local governments in Western Australia are required to develop a Plan for the Future in accordance with the Local Government Act 1995 which is to incorporate a Strategic Community Plan (SCP) and a Corporate Business Plan (CBP).

The Plans are required to be reviewed every two years, alternating between a minor and major strategic review. Council has recently undertaken a minor review of both plans.

While this review has been undertaken with the community’s current aspirations in mind, gathered from various engagement throughout the past eighteen months, the Shire of York is seeking public comment prior to Council adoption of the reviewed plans.

“While Council has considered the community’s views, it’s important for the community to have the opportunity to provide feedback and I encourage people to have their say.” Cr Wallace said.

The plans are available here:
