The Shire of York is seeking positive, enthusiastic and committed people to join the organisation in the following roles.

 

York Memorial Swimming Pool

Duty Manager x 1, Lifeguard x 1 (Casual - 5 months fixed term)

These roles are sought to fill seasonal vacancies. Both require qualifications in pool lifeguarding and previous knowledge in the operation of an aquatic facility.  The Duty Manager will also possess a current pool manager’s certificate and the ability to manage day to day operations in the absence of the Pool Manager.

York Visitor Centre

Visitor Information Officers (Casual Pool)

With visitation to York increasing, a pool of casual staff is required to support the operations of the York Visitor Centre during peak times such as weekends and during events.  The Shire is seeking applications from people willing to be called upon to assist visitors to our town when required.

York Recreation and Convention Centre

Hospitality Staff (Casual Pool)

The YRCC offers a food and beverage service to sporting clubs and the community 5 days per week with meals served on Friday and Sunday evenings.  The Shire is seeking applications from willing and flexible people for roles including wait staff, bar staff, kitchen duties and cleaning on a casual basis. Applicants must be willing to work weekends.

Property Maintenance Officer

(Full-time – 3 year fixed term)

Following the retirement of a long-term employee, the Shire is seeking an experienced and skilled trades all-rounder to work closely with the Works Supervisor to implement maintenance programs for Shire infrastructure. The successful applicant will undertake maintenance projects, contract with external service providers and ensure that best quality work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

A national police clearance and pre-employment medical will be required prior to confirmation of employment for each position.  All Shire positions are subject to a three-month probation period.  Employees are required to abide by the Shire’s Code of Conduct.
