THE STORY BEHIND THE BRAND

Published on Wednesday, 17 March 2021 at 3:54:14 PM

The Shire of York Strategic Community Plan sets the future goals and plans to enable the Council to deliver the community vision for the next 10 years. Many members of the community contributed to the Imagine York 2030 consultation in February 2020 and the Shire got clear advice from the community on its vision and priorities.

The new Shire brand evolved from this information to showcase the elements the community put forward as the most important: Heritage, Environment and Community.

YORK INFORMATION BAY REFURBISHED

With 1,110 visitors coming through the Visitor Centre in February 2021 and 379 visitors coming through the Visitor Centre over just the March long weekend it's clear that despite the Perth, Peel and South West lockdown in February, York is firmly on the map for day trippers, weekend visitors and longer term travellers.

The Information Bay on Great Southern Highway has been refreshed with the new Shire branding and a new update map has been installed.

TOWN BANNERS UPDATED

The banners on Henrietta Street, Avon Terrace and Balladong Road have been updated using the new branding.
The colourful banners make a cheery entry to town for visitors and show the flexibility of the new Shire logo.
