WANTED - Residency Museum Volunteers

 The York Residency Museum was opened in 1972 and continues to be managed by the Shire of York, with help from community volunteers.

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with the front of house operations of the museum.

We are open to the public on:

Wednesdays 1pm – 3pm, Weekends and some public holidays 11am-3pm. A staff member is always on duty with volunteers.

What we expect from you:

  • An interest in sharing the history of York.
  • Reliable and committed to attend on the agreed days and hours.
  • Respect of procedures within the museum and agreement to follow instructions.
  • You enjoy being part of a team and interacting with the general public. 

What you can expect from us:

  • A friendly work environment.
  • Training in the operations of the museums front of house procedures.
  • We will give you the confidence to assist the public with their experience at the museum.
  • Fantastic heritage building and exhibitions to explore to learn about the unique history of York.
