The Shire of York is seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Health Officer to join our Development Services team on a 12-month maximum term contract (maternity leave relief). Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce and monitor compliance with relevant environmental health legislation, including food safety laws and associated regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve environmental health and noise complaints in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and sampling programs for food premises, public swimming pools, drinking water and other regulated facilities.
  • Implement and support delivery of the Shire’s Public Health Plan and associated health promotion initiatives.
  • Oversee operational compliance programs including pest control monitoring, Containers for Change, the York Waste Transfer Station and Septage Ponds.

Remuneration:

The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 7 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025 ($95,657.66 - $100,297.77). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s skills and experience.
