The Oliver Battista Motocross Track- York WA

The Oliver Battista Motorcross Track is located on Spencers Brook road and managed by the Shire of York. The track provides a safe and controlled environment for all levels of off-road vehicles (ORV) enthusiasts and plays a vital role in encouraging legal and responsible riding.

By offering a designated and maintained space for recreational riders, the track helps reduce unauthorised riding in environmentally sensitive or unsafe areas, while also contributing to the local economy through tourism and day-trip visits.

 

Opening Hours

Monday to Saturday - 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Sunday - 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

*Public holidays 9-5 PM.  Closed Christmas Day

Out of hours access and riding are strictly prohibited

***The Oliver Battista Motocross Track will be closed from Tuesday 9 June to Sunday 14 June 2026 while essential annual maintenance and upgrade works are carried out***

The temporary closure is required to ensure the safety of riders and contractors while heavy machinery operates throughout the facility.
Works will include:
✅ Annual maintenance of the main track
✅ Drainage improvements to maintain track standards and ride quality
✅ Realignment and upgrades to the Nippers Track for improved safety and flow
✅ Ground preparation works to support future revegetation projects 
These works are important to ensure the facility continues to provide a safe, high-quality riding experience for all users.
The track is scheduled to reopen on Monday 15 June 2026, with all maintenance and upgrade works completed.

Riding (Motorcycles and Quadbikes only)

  • Practice MX circuit (Clay) Can get wet in Winter and Dry in Summer
  • Junior/Nippers Circuit - 85cc and under / 12 Years old and under
  • Small trail riding area away from tracks

General

  • Bathroom facility – New bathroom facility as of end of June 2025
  • Picnic benches
  • Gas BBQ
  • Covered Shelter
  • Utility loading ramp
  • Large carpark

Other

  • York Town centre/CBD: Short drive (3.5km) – Food, refreshments, fuel, accommodation and local attractions


Track Rules

General Rules of Use

These tracks are for motorcycles and quadbikes only

  • All riders are required to wear correct safety gear – minimum requirements are a helmet, closed-in shoes, long pants and shirt
  • No riding in the Avon River Zone
  • No riding outside the fenced area
  • Ride only on designated tracks, do not cut through
  • No riding through carpark and recreational facilities area
  • Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Only vehicles under 85cc and riders under 12 years of age allowed on the Junior/Nippers Track (Supervision allowed)
  • No littering, lighting fires or camping allowed
  • No alcohol is to be consumed on the site
  • No person to enter the facility under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • All riders acknowledge that they use these tracks at their own risk and no liability is placed on the Shire of York


Registration of vehicles

Motocross track users are reminded that only registered off-road bikes or quad bikes are to be used at the Motocross track.
