The Shire of York is looking for a motivated Finance Officer – Creditors to join our friendly Corporate & Community Services team. You’ll take ownership of creditor payments, reconciliations, and reporting, helping to keep the Shire’s finances accurate, compliant, and on track. Bring your eye for detail, great communication skills, and knack for problem-solving to a role where your work really counts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Shire’s full creditors system, including invoice processing, EFT and cheque payments, and reconciliation activities.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and the Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR) to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Conduct statement and trial balance reconciliations, promptly investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor purchase orders and quotations to ensure adherence to the Shire’s Procurement Policy and financial procedures.
- Liaise with external auditors during interim and final annual audits, providing accurate documentation and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to strengthen financial processes, deliver high-quality work, and promote a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Remuneration:
The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 4 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Enterprise Agreement 2019 ($77,905.11 – 81,585.98). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s skills and experience.
