The Shire of York is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager Community & Place to lead the delivery of community development, engagement, and placemaking initiatives that enhance liveability, wellbeing, and local identity. This is a unique opportunity to shape how people experience and connect with the York community, driving meaningful outcomes across programs, services, and spaces.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape community and place initiatives, driving programs and strategies that strengthen connection, wellbeing, and local identity.
  • Activate and enhance public spaces, delivering events, programs, and initiatives that bring our town centres and community facilities to life.
  • Oversee community services and facilities, ensuring they are vibrant, well-used, and meeting the needs of our community.
  • Build strong partnerships, working closely with community groups, government agencies, and stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Inspire and lead a high-performing team, fostering a positive culture and supporting staff to achieve their best.

 

Remuneration:

The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 7 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025 ($95,657.66 - $100,297.77). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s skills and experience.
