Botanical Art Workshop with Judy Rogers
Past Event
This workshop has something to offer for beginner and experienced artists. A small group of students will be guided by Judy to create “portraits” of plants, just as one makes a portrait of a human being. Each portrait has an added poignancy because it is a painting of a familiar plant.
Participants will learn the basics and techniques of botanical drawing. Through detailed observational tonal sketches, they will establish a good understanding of proportions, textures, and how to make the subject look three-dimensional.
Materials: Participants are to bring along their own drawing materials and students can also bring their own vegetation to draw.
Suggested drawing materials: 6B charcoal pencils, white pastel pencil, kneadable erasers. Paper A3 Cartridges white, min. 180gsm, A3 Brown craft paper 80gsm.
