New RV free 24 hour stop location

New Recreational Vehicle (RV’s) free 24 hour stop location

The free Recreational Vehicle (RV) parking which currently occurs in Avon Park will be relocated across the Avon River next to the Croquet Club following a decision by Council at the February Ordinary Council meeting.

This follows community consultation and investigation into options for this important facility which provides a highly valued amenity to visitors to York.

The area will include bitumen roads, grassed areas and water access.  The existing dump point will also be relocated from Avon Park to this side of the river.

The decision on the location and amenity offered at the new site is in direct response to submissions received from the community, businesses and caravan users themselves.

The relocation of the RV’s will occur over the coming months which will make way for the redevelopment of Avon Park in the 2018/19 financial year (subject to funding being received) in line with the concept plan recently adopted by Council.

Copies of the plan for the works are available below.
