Shire of York Launches New Brand

Published on Tuesday, 9 March 2021 at 2:47:18 PM

Shire of York Council officially unveiled a new marketing brand to promote the Shire of York this week.

Perth graphic design company, Castledine & Castledine was engaged by Council to design a brand to reflect the community’s reviewed vision and the organisation’s growing status as a contemporary, responsive and professional local government authority.

Local business representatives, Councillors, Staff and members of the community attended community planning workshops and completed surveys to give valuable insights that provided a snapshot into the essence of what the Shire of York represents.

The new look has a colour palette reflective of the natural and built environment of WA’s first inland town and the key element is the ‘o’ shaped roundel which is divided into three segments which represent: Architectural Heritage & Infrastructure; Nature, the River & Environment and Agriculture; and Community & Culture.

This brand has been created to reflect the unique combination of the Shire’s proud past and optimistic future.  The brand will open up a new way forward in promoting the Shire of York as a successful place to live, work, invest and prosper,” Shire President Cr Denese Smythe said.

This design was directly inspired by the information given by the community when asked what they loved about living in York and it showcases the pride our community has York” she said.

“We are really excited to see this project roll out further in the coming months and into the future.”

The brand will be launched to the wider community via street banners, entry signage, vehicle decals, administration signage and a refreshed website immediately with further brand updates across the Shire’s assets and services, including buildings, communication channels, and signage rolling out over the coming months.
