Builder Work

For The Purposes Of The Building Services (Registration) Regulations 2011 And The Requirements For Registered Builders And Owner Builders Permits

Builder Work means building work:

  1. for which a building permit is required; and
  2. with a value of $20 000 or more based on the value of the work estimated under Schedule 2; and
  3. carried out in an area of the State set out in Schedule 3, but does not include the following types of building work
  4. construction of a farm building;
  5. production of a prefabricated or transportable building in a manufacturing yard;
  6. formation of a parking area;
  7. formation of outdoor sporting surfaces including associated fencing and lighting;
  8. construction of walkways, viewing and gathering platforms that do not form part of another building;
  9. construction of a water tank that is not incorporated into the structure of another building;
  10. construction of an incidental structure as defined in the Building Act 2011 section 3;
  11. installation of fire sprinklers, free standing partitioning, safety systems, timber decking or glazing;
  12. cabinet making and installation;
  13. joinery (2nd fixing) work;

Farm Buildings

Farm building means any building of a permanent nature, other than a building used or intended to be used for residential purposes, that is —

  1. constructed, or to be constructed, on land used primarily for agricultural purposes; and
  2. itself used or intended to be used for agricultural purposes.
