TECHNICAL OFFICER - PROJECTS

(PERMANENT PART-TIME – 3 DAY PER WEEK)

 We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Technical Officer - Projects to join our Projects & Assets Team. Help turn ideas and plans into projects that help our community thrive. This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same, with involvement across project planning, scoping, costing and coordinating on site delivery. You’ll work in partnership with the Shire team, contractors and the wider community to create and care for infrastructure and places that make a lasting difference to the community. If you enjoy combining technical and practical work, getting out on site, working with people and seeing a project progress from concept to completion, this is an opportunity to make your mark.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the planning and delivery of capital works and other projects, including site investigations, surveys, specifications, project documentation, cost estimates, grant administration and practical project solutions.
  • Inspect works and coordinate contractors to monitor progress, safety, quality, contract requirements and successful on-site delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenditure, records and asset information, while working with internal teams, customers and the community to support positive project outcomes.

 

Remuneration:

The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 5 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025 ($86,213.28-$90,163.60 pro rata). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s demonstrated, skills and experience.
