VISITOR CENTRE ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

 Do you have a passion for York, tourism and creating memorable visitor experiences? We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and community-minded Visitor Centre Administration Officer to help showcase everything our beautiful region has to offer. In this varied, hands-on role, you will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Centre and Town Hall, support local tourism and events, and ensure visitors and residents receive friendly, knowledgeable and high-quality service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Centre, including staff rostering, workflow planning, timesheets, leave approvals and stock management.
  • Deliver friendly, accurate and knowledgeable information to visitors and residents about tourism products, local attractions, events and experiences across York and the wider region.
  • Manage Town Hall bookings, venue inductions, inventories and post-hire inspections, while working collaboratively to support the successful delivery of events.
  • Maintain and develop visitor information, promotional materials, brochure displays, digital platforms and tourism marketing content.
  • Support, guide and collaborate with Visitor Centre staff and volunteers through inductions, training and ongoing skill development.
  • Build positive relationships with tourism operators, community groups and industry stakeholders while identifying new and improved visitor experiences and promotional opportunities.

 

Remuneration:

The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 4 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025 ($80,242.26-$84,033.56). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s demonstrated, skills and experience.
