(PERMANENT PART-TIME – 4 DAY PER WEEK)
Are you a people person who loves sharing everything that makes York and the Avon Valley special? We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Information Officer to join the York Visitor Centre team in a permanent part-time position working Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 2:00pm. As one of the first faces visitors see, you'll help create memorable visitor experiences by sharing local knowledge, offering helpful advice, and connecting people with the attractions, events and hidden gems that make our region unique. Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors and respond to enquiries in person, by phone and via email, providing friendly and professional service.
- Share accurate and engaging information about York and the wider Avon Valley, including local attractions, events, tourism products and services.
- Help keep the Visitor Centre looking welcoming and informative by maintaining brochure displays and up-to-date visitor resources.
- Work alongside and support the Visitor Centre’s valued volunteers to deliver a positive visitor experience.
- Assist with general administration, customer transactions and the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Centre.
- Contribute to tourism marketing and promotion, including website and brochure content and the promotion of local events and festivals.
Remuneration:
The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 3 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025 ($74,476.45 – 78,272.82 pro rata). Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant’s demonstrated, skills and experience.
