The Shire of York is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) businesses and suppliers to provide retail products for sale at the York Visitor Centre.
The York Visitor Centre offers a curated retail space showcasing products that reflect the character, culture and identity of the region. This EOI aims to strengthen and expand our offering to include authentic First Nations products, with a preference for businesses connected to Ballardong Country and the wider Wheatbelt region.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking established businesses with retail-ready products suitable for a visitor centre environment.
Product types may include (but are not limited to):
- Souvenirs and giftware (e.g. postcards, mugs, tea towels)
- Apparel (e.g. t-shirts, caps)
- Small homewares or culturally inspired items
- Other visitor-friendly retail products
Products should:
- Be professionally presented and ready for retail sale
- Be available for ongoing supply
- Align with typical visitor centre price points (generally under $100)
Who Should Apply
We invite EOIs from:
- First Nations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) businesses and suppliers, with preference given to those with a connection to Ballardong Country and the Wheatbelt region
- Established First Nations businesses with existing product lines ready for wholesale or retail supply
- Suppliers able to meet demand and maintain consistent stock levels
