The Shire of York has been advised that the Minister for the Environment has approved the Great Southern Landfill proposal at Allawuna Farm. Council and the community have consistently opposed this project due to concerns about its environmental, social and economic impacts, and we are extremely disappointed by this decision. We will now carefully review the conditions of approval and consider what options are available to the Shire and the community.
