In accordance with Regulation 19D of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996 the Shire of York is pleased to provide notice that at Council’s April 2025 Ordinary Meeting the major strategic review was considered and Council adopted its inaugural Council Plan 2025-2035.
The Council Plan 2025-2035 builds on the previous Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan, incorporating both into one document. In consideration of the feedback received from the community and stakeholders as part of this major review process, the priorities and aspirations remain grouped into five broad categories to form the strategic pillars:
Community and cultural vitality – a strong, inclusive community supporting all cultures and generations
Future-ready economy – a diverse, resilient economy with employment and investment growth
Thriving natural environment – a climate-resilient, healthy natural environment
Comfortable and connected places – enduring heritage identity, quality infrastructure and built form
Strong governance, responsive leadership – community-informed, responsive leadership and strong governance
A new 2035 Community Vision was also developed for York to be “A vibrant, family-friendly lifestyle and cultural destination where rich heritage, sense of place and connected community shape a thriving future”. What a wonderful aspiration to share.
The Plan is available via the below link or you can request a hard copy from the Administration Office or CRC:

I would like to thank the community for its interest and input into the reviewed Plan.

Acting Chief Executive Officer
*Please note, while the content of the Council Plan will not change, a new document will be produced in the new financial year that is more aligned to the Shire's Corporate Branding.
